Week 5; Mariners exterminate the Rinkrats, Alpines down Turkey's, Moustache outlast Sold Signs.Week 5 started with the Secunda Mariners tripling up on the Realty Partner Rinkrats 6 to 2.
Mariners Cole Hawes led the attack with a hat trick, Richard Cashen, Jason Troini and Chris O’Donnell added singles. Tyler Hawes contributed with 3 helpers.
Dave Rood and Mark Tanner replied for the Rinkrats.
Thursday night had the Dartmouth Alpines defeat the Wild Turkey’s 4 to 1. The Alpines jumped out to a 3 to 1 1st period lead on goals from Phil Diochon, Tim Foster and Jason Thibeau , with Colton Denman finding the net for the Wild.
Alex Henry was the only goal scorer in the 2nd period for Dartmouth. Tim Foster’s goal was the game winner and he also added a couple of assists in the victory.
The Nightcap saw Your Fathers Moustache out score the Realty Partners Sold Signs 10 to 8. Both goaltenders had no lovin’ from the “D”.
The Sold Signs jumped out to a 4 to 0 lead, on goals from Tyson Aalders, Ryan Morris and 2 from Stu Lenehan with 3:49 remaining in the 1st period. The Moustache would score their 1st of the night 23 seconds later from Stewart MacRae. That goal woke up YFM, as they would score 3 more before the 1st period would end. Aaron Akitt, Jeff MacNeil and Neal Pashkoski’s power play goal, knotted the game at 4 after the 1st.
Stu Lenehan completed the hat trick early in the 2nd to give the Signs a 5 to 4 lead. The Moustache would flex their mussels and score the next 5 goals; 2 from Guy Boudreau and Sean Fraser and Aaron Akitt getting his second of the game, to open up a 9 to 5 lead with 8 minutes remaining in regulation time. Ryan Fortune scored Sold Signs 6th goal with 3:25 remaining, only to have Guy Boudreau score his third of the period and reopen a 4 goal lead, 34 seconds later. Realty Partners would not give up and score 2 more goals with 1:02 remaining; Ryan Morris firing his second of the game and Bobby Sacre scoring his first.
The Moustache would hang on for a 10 to 8 victory.
