The second game of Lake City teams playing CFB Halifax took place Sunday. The Moose Light Shamrocks fell to CFB 4 to 3, but protested the game because Secunda Mariners' Rob Sneath play for CFB Halifax. They felt it was not fair to have other players from our league play for them when there is points up for grabs to our league's teams. The league president agreed and awarded the Shamrocks the win, making the final score 8 to 4 (5 to 0 protest). As for the game itself, the Shamrocks took a 3 to 2 lead after the 1st period, on goals by Chad Brind'Amour, Gord Dickie and Kinnon Kendziora. Stefan Maillet and Rob Sneath replied for CFB. The Shamrocks ran into penalty trouble in the 2nd period, taking 7 minor penalties, that proved costly as CFB's Andrew Glessing scored on a 2 man advantage to tie the game at 3. CFB Halifax took a 4 to 3 lead with just 1:30 remaining in regulation time, on a goal by Barry Noseworthy.
The CFB Halifax team rep was told that if Secunda Mariners' Rob Sneath, Bruno Carpentier and Andrew Hawrylak played in games against our teams they would lose by default, he understood and reminded me that they are just trying be build a strong team for their tournament.
