Unfortunate Semi Final

2017-04-12

Semi Finals Begin, Rinkrats Forfeit Game 2 of the Series.

The 2017 Lake City Semi Finals began Tuesday with the Secunda Mariners jumping out to a 1 game lead in the Best of 3 Series with a 4 to 1 victory over the defending Lake City Cup Champions Your Fathers Moustache.
Mariners Evan Cheverie led the attack with 2 goals and 2 helpers. Tyler Hawes and Cole Hawes had the other 2 goals in the victory.
Connor Fudge replied for the Moustache.

In the other Semi Final, battle of the Realty Partners had the Sold Signs nip the Rinkrats 4 to 3 and take a 1 game to none lead.
Signs had 4 different goal scorers, starting with Scott MacDonald, Josh Colman, Ryan Morris and the game winner from Jeff Kielbratowski.
Jeremy Mock, Matthew Beaver and Matt English answered for the Rinkrats.

Unfortunately the Rinkrats cannot ice a team for Game 2 on Thursday night and have Forfeit the game.
The Sold Signs will be awarded a 5 to 0 win and win the Series 2 games to 0 and advance to their first Lake City Cup Final.

The reason the game could not be reschedule is due to ice time commitment we have with the Dartmouth Sportsplex. This season, as stated at the beginning of the season, you have to give the Sportsplex a 30 day notice to cancel ice time, if you don't you still have to pay for it. This years budget was to pay for the maxium games needed in the playoffs, meaning there is no extra money to book additional ice time and ask the teams if they wanted to pay for an extra ice time.
The other reason is available ice time remaining at the Sportsplex. Due to the loss of dates in February, because of the Snow Storms, our Regualar Season schedule was pushed back.

Budget Update;

Rinkrats - PAID IN FULL,
Wild Turkey's - PAID IN FULL,
Mariners - PAID IN FULL,
Sold Signs - Owe $376.00,
Moustache - Owe $1,096.00,
Alpines - Owe $2,249.00
