The Dartmouth Alpines won the last game of the 2003-2004 season to capture the Lake City Cup. The defending champions started the 2004-2005 season Tuesday, October 5th, with an impressive 9 to 8 comeback victory over the Sandtrap Chiefs. The Alpines rallied from a 7 to 3 deficit with 14:15 left in the 2nd period. Led by Jay Washington's hattrick goal, a powerplay goal with 1:54 remaining in the game, to secure the win. Dartmouth's Chris Boutilier chipped in with a pair of goals and an assist. Chiefs' Roddy MacCormick and Paul Wright scored 2 goals and an assist each in the loss. In the other game on Tuesday, saw the Secunda Mariners hang on to a 6 to 5 win over the T.J. Devils. Mariners' Shawn Doyle was a one man wrecking crew, scoring 4 goals and added a helper. Rhail Arsenault and Kenny Hughes replied with 2 goals each for the Devils. Both teams powerplay were working, with Secunda going 2 for 2 and the Devils scoring 2 of their 4 chances.
In Thursday night games, had Scotiabank spank Your Fathers Moustache 10 to 1. Scotiabank were sparked by new comer's Doug Mollen, 3 goals, 3 assists; Marcello Fabrizi, 2 goals, 2 assists and Don Murray, 2 goals and an assist. Craig MacDonald scored for the short staffed Moustache. In the nightcap, the T.J. Devils rebounded from Tuesdays loss, with a 7 to 4 win over the Big leagues' Rangers. Devils' Kenny Hughes led the attack with 3 goals and 2 assists, Tony Peers also chipped in with 2 goals and an assist. Reg Bowes popped a pair for the Rangers.
