Share Chiefs Crack A Dozen

The Sandtrap Chiefs won their 11th and 12th straight games of the season to improve to 12 wins and 1 loss on the year. It started on Tuesday, scoring 5 unanserwed goals in the 2nd period to down the Big Leagues' Rangers 7 to 2. Chiefs' Gord Dickie led the way with a pair of goals and assists, Mark Walsh also added a couple of goals, with singles going to Scott Cote, Mike Johnson and Shane Gibbs. The Rangers, who at one point had a 2 to 1 lead in the 1st period, had goals by Shane Murphy and Mike Regimbal.
The other game that night had the T.J. Devils triple up on Your Fathers Moustache 6 to 2. Kelly Sebru found the net twice for the Devils, while Glenn MacMillian, Barry Harrietha, Scott Fairburn and Chris O'Donnell added a goal each in the victory. Moustache's Mark MacNeil and Jamie MacVicar scored in the loss.
Thursday night had Your Fathers Moustache rebound from Tuesday's loss, to draw to a come from behind 4 all overtime tie against Scotiabank. Your Fathers Moustache's Andrew MacVicar scored 2 late goals to erase a 2 goal deficit and earn the point. Mike Barcley and John Hoage also scored for the Moustache. Doug Mollon had 2 for Scotiabank, with Don Murray and Mike MacIssac contributing the others.
The Chiefs made it 12 in a row with a hard faught 7 to 6 victory over the Dartmouth Alpines. Alpines jumped out to an early 2 to 0 lead on goals by Todd Parker and Graham McLeod. The Chiefs responded with 3 of their own, on goals by Paul Wright, Mark Walsh and Gord Dickie. Dartmouth popped in a pair before the 1st period ended, from Dave Fader and Dwight Lucas. Dave Fader restored a 2 goal lead for the Alpines with his 2nd of the night early in the 2nd period. Sandtrap rallied once again with a 3 goal out burst on goals by Craig Whynot, Mark Walsh's 2nd and Gord Dickie's 2nd of the night. Alpines' Graham McLeod tied the game at 6 half way through the period, before Brian McIntoch notched the game winner for the Chiefs with just over 7 minutes remaining in regulation time. The win was the Chiefs 12th in row and opened up a 7 point lead in the standings over 2nd place Dartmouth Alpines. Sandtrap's and the league's top scorer Roddy MacCormick missed both games this week, as he is down under having an Aussie Christmas.
The last game of the evening was also a see saw affair, with the Secunda Mariners coming on top of a 6 to 5 score over the T.J. Devils. Mariners' defenceman Rick Findley fired the hat trick, with Keifer House nailing a pair and Doug Clark scoring the winner with just under 4 minutes left in the 2nd period. Chris O'Donnell had the trick for the Devils, Kelly Sebru and Tony Peers had singles. Steve Bourne made his goaltending debut in the LCGHL for the Devils, while Scotiabanks' Peter Douglas backstopped the Mariners.
