The Lake City Gentlemen's Hockey League is beginning it's 26th season, Tuesday, October 9th.
The league continues to play out of the Dartmouth Sportsplex, with 2 games on both Tuesday and Thursday nights. Games start at 9:00pm and 10:15pm on both nights. The Dartmouth Sportsplex has increased the cost per hour of their ice to $195.00. This is the only expence added to the budget for the 2007-08 season.
The total operating cost of the league is $31,637.50, divided by 7 teams equals $4,520.00 per team.
Each team will play 20 regular season games and a minimum of 2 playoff games. Each game consists of 2 - 20 minute stop time period. If the game is tied after regulation time, there will be a 5 minute straight time overtime period. Overtime period will be played 4 players aside. The league has a mercy rule, if one team has a 5 goal lead, the last 10 minutes of the 2nd period will run straight time. The clock will only go back to stop time at the 2 minute mark of the period and only if the goal differential is less then 5 goals.
