Rinkrats ice a full team and still lose.
Dartmouth Alpines remain undefeated The early game Tuesday saw the Scotian Canadians debut their new uniforms. The new uni's must have inspired them as they trounced the Shamrocks 7 to 1. Defenceman Mike MacIssac led the way with a goal and 2 assists, while Trevor Chow potted a pair of goals in the victory. Moose Light's Shane Gibbs broke Peter Douglas' shutout bid with 1:36 remaining in the game. The Canadians looking good all around.
The second game had the defending champs humble Your Fathers Moustache 10 to 4. Mariners' Keifer House tallied 2 goals and 3 assists, while last year's playoff MVP Doug Clark netted a hat trick. Shane Walsh and Sean Fraser replied with a pair of goals each for the Moustache.
Thursday night had the Moustache stop a 3 game losing streak with a convincing 9 to 4 whipping of the Rinkrats. YFM's Dan Leblanc and Sean Fraser each fired a hat trick and a helper for the win. The Rinkrats were led by Justin Dowding, who had 2 goals and an assiat. The 'rats finally iced a team, 14 skaters, but still fell short in looking for their first point of the season.
In the night cap, old rivals Dartmouth Alpines and Bacardi Rangers tangled, with the Alpines outscoring the Rangers 7 to 4. Dartmouth's Todd Parker continues to lead the charge with 3 goals and 2 assists. The Alpines are the only undefeated team at 4 and 0. Bacardi's Scott Allison buried a pair of goals with a helper. Rangers defenceman Brian Melanson received a gross misconduct and is automatically suspended for 3 games.
