Week 12 - Recap.
Canadians end 6 game losing steak.
Alpines lose for the first time.A new year begins, Happy 2008!, and the Scotian Canadians start it off right. Scotian not only ended a 6 game losing streak, they did it by upsetting Secunda Mariners 5 to 4.
The Canadians outscored the Mariners 4 to 3 after the first period on goals by Don Murray, Jesse Ferguson, Troy Stevens and Doug Mollon. Secunda's Doug Clark tallied a pair with a single by Jeff Crowell. Doug Mollon scored his second of the game early in the 2nd period, which proved to be the game winner, while John Robb of the Mariners scored with 3:57 left in regulation time to make it close. It was Secunda's second straight loss, losing 5 to 4 in overtime to Your Fathers Moustache back on December 18th.
The two week break didn't help the Dartmouth Alpines, as they lost their first game of the season, 6 to 3 to the Moose Light Shamrocks.
The Shamocks extended their winning streak to 5 games, their last loss came on November 27th to the Alpines.
It was definitely a team effort as the Moose had 6 different goal scorers, Mark Sinclair, Shane Gibbs, Todd Sparks, Gord Dickie, Trevor Doyle and Craig Whynot found the net.
Dartmouth started the season off with 8 wins 0 loses and 1 tie before suffering their first defeat. Scoring for the Alpines was Jay Washington with a pair and Darren Welsh.
