Moustache split back to back against the Alpines.
Rangers have a good week.
Shamrocks doubles up on Mariners.With the second half of the season on the way, teams will start to make their playoff positioning in the standings.
Last week the Dartmouth Alpines defeated Your Fathers Moustache 6 to 5, this week started off with Your Fathers Moustache getting some revenge against the Alpines by downing them 5 to 1.
Dartmouth started the scoring only 22 seconds in, on a goal by Scott Wadden, but thats all they could get by goaltender Dave Fallows. The Moustache scored 5 unanswered goals, led by Glenn Dahlgren with 2, Luke Morgan, Sean Fraser and Ross MacInnis added singles. The loss was only the Alpines second of the season, but second of the new year.
Tuesday's late game had the Bacardi Rangers play the first of two this week by defeating the last place Rinkrats 5 to 2.
Rangers' Reg Bowes and Scott Allison each potted a pair, with Allan Lake adding one in their victory. Colin Peters did all the goal scoring for the Rinkrats, who now have lost three straight games.
Thursday night had the surging Moose Light Shamrocks win their seventh in row by doubling up on the Secunda Mariners 6 to 3.
Shamrocks leading scorer Paul Wright buried a hattrick and a helper in the win. Defenceman Steve Snell had a pair, while Trevor Doyle had a goal and 2 assists.
Mariners scoring came from Jeff Crowell, Jamie Wood and Graham Power. Secunda are now winless in 4 straight games, 3 losses and a tie.
The Bacardi Rangers completed the week with their second victory, with a come from behind win over the Scotian Canadians 6 to 5.
The Canadians opened up a 5 to 2 lead after the 1st period on goals by Doug Mollon and Mike Sim with a pair each and one by Jesse Ferguson. Scott Allison and Allan Lake replied for the Rangers. The second period was all Bacardi, scoring 4 unanswered goals, including 3 more from Allan Lake, giving him 4 on the game, and 1 by Mark Whebby. Whebby's goal came with 1:28 left on the clock to tie it at 5, that was followed 1 minute later with Lake's 4th of the game and game winner.
