Moustache forget to show up against the Shamrocks. Defence... what defence? Goal scoring was the rule of the week.
Tuesday started off with the Bacardi Rangers self destructing against Your Father Moustache, losing 8 to 4. The game scoring was back and forth and tied at 4 with 4:21 remaining in regulation time, when the Rangers would take 4 penalties and the Moustache would score 4 powerplay goals for the victory.
League leading scorer Sean Fraser added to his total with 4 goals and 2 assists, Dan Leblanc popped a pair with Luke Morgan and Andrew MacVicar adding singles for the Moustache. Rangers' Allan Lake continued his hot scoring with a pair while teammate Richie Holmes also had a couple in loss.
The second game of the night had Mariners' goaltender Corey Irving and Alpines' goaltender Todd Bengert wondering where the defence was?, as Dartmouth outscored Secunda 10 to 7.
The Alpines were led by Todd Parker's 4 goal effort, Darren Welsh added a pair and Chris Boutilier, Terry MacDonald, Scott MacKinnon and Jay Washington had singles in Dartmouth's biggest goal output of the season. Jamie Wood found the net 4 times and Keifer House 3 times for the slumping Lake City Cup Champions. Mariners' Dean Tucker and Ian Marshall each had 4 helpers in the loss.
Thursday had the battle of the cellar dwellers, as the 6th place Scotian Canadians opened up a 4 point lead over the 7th place Rinkrats, with a 7 to 3 thumping. Canadians' Mike Sim buried 4 goals with Allan Coyle, Danny Brewer and Troy Stevens adding a goal each. Justin Dowding fired home a hattrick for the slumping Rinkrats, as they are still looking for their first win of 2008.
In the final game of the week had the Moose Light Shamrocks continue their winning streak up to 8 straight games with a surprising 11 to 2 thrashing of Your Fathers Moustache.
Moose Light had eight different goal scorers, with 2 each from Paul Wright, Rick Findlay and Jules Laraque. Trevor Doyle, Craig Whynot, Shane Gibbs, Mark Walsh and Sebastien Decaens rounded out the scoring as the Shamrocks try to catch the 1st place Dartmouth Alpines. YFM's Ross MacInnis and Brian Eisner replied in the loss. The game was the last meeting of the regular season and the Moustache couldn't be happier, as they lost all 3 games to Shamrocks and outscored 30 to 10.
