2014 LAKE CITY CUP FINALS

The 2014 Lake City Cup begins on Tuesday, April 15th when two of the League's oldest franchises, the 29th year Secunda Mariners take on the defending Lake City Cup Champions and 27th year Your Fathers Moustache.

Both clubs have won the Lake City Cup 4 times. Your Fathers Moustache last season 2013, 1997 and 1990, 1989 as the Crazy Horse Cabaret, Jamie MacVicar was on all 4 winning teams.
Secunda Mariners won in 2009, 2007, 2005 and in 2001 as the Toyota East Mariners, Steve Widmeyer played on all 4 winning teams as well.

This is only the second time both teams met in the Lake City Cup Final, the first was in 1989 when the Crazy Horse Cabaret (Your Fathers Moustache) defeated the Thirsty Duck Quackers (Secunda Mariners) 3 games to 1 and win their first Lake City Cup.

The 2013-14 season had them facing off 4 times and goals were a plenty.
October 31st - Mariners 5 vs Moustache 9,
December 3rd - Moustache 9 vs Mariners 2,
January 7th - Mariners 10 vs Moustache 5,
February 27th Moustache 5 vs Mariners 3,

The Moustache outscored the Mariners 28 to 20 and winning the season series 3 games to 1.   

Your Fathers Moustache enters the Finals by winning all 3 games during the Round Robin Tournament and then defeating Wild Turkey's 2 games to 1 in the Semi Finals.

Secunda Mariners had 2 wins and a loss in the Round Robin and defeated Realty Partner Rinkrats 2 games to 0 in their Semi Final.

One of these teams will win their 5th Lake City Cup, putting them in a 2nd place tie with the Dartmouth Alpines and 1 shy of the Rangers' franchise, who have 6 Lake City Cups. Jim Morash has 6 championships with the Rangers and is looking for his 7th time with his name on the Cup as he plays with the Mariners.
