Week 4 - Recap: Mariners double-up on the Alpines. Rinkrats surge back to beat the Canadians. Rangers keep the Shamrocks pointless. Alpines & Moustache draw even. Mariners humble CFB Halifax.

Week 4 began with last year's regular season champions the Dartmouth Alpines taking on this year's league leaders the Secunda Mariners.
Dartmouth jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Scott MacKinnon's 3rd goal of the season. The Mariners took only 15 seconds to even the game up at 1, on a goal by Jeff Crowell. Secunda would add 4 more goals by Keifer House, Ian Marshall, Steve Widmeyer and Marty King, to end the 1st period 5 to 1. The Alpines and Mariners would trade 3 goals apiece in the 2nd, as the Mariners doubled up on the Alpines 8 to 4. Dartmouth's Dave Denike, Glen MacDonald and Scott Wadden found the net, while Keifer House popped his 2nd of the game and Jeff Crowell completed the hattrick with a pair.

In the nightcap, the Scotian Canadians, looking for their first win of the season, met the Rinkrats.
Unfortunately for the Canadians, Rinkrats' Craig Perrin had another idea, scoring 4 goals, including the game winner with just 2:21 remaining in regulation time, for a 6 to 4 victory. Veteran Rob Ritchie and Chris MacNeil added the others for the 'rats. Scotian had powerplay goals from Joey Richard and Brad Miller, with Paul Birmingham and Jamie Richard adding the others, as they fall to 0 and 4 on the season.

The Moose Light Shamrocks remained winless as they fell to the Bacardi Rangers 6 to 4 on Thursday night.
The Rangers had a pair of goals each from Tony Peers and Craig Vincent, with Allan Lake burying a goal and 3 assists and Craig Manual scoring the game winner with 1:19 remaing in the 2nd period.
Shamrocks' Jason Troini fired a pair, including his 2nd on a penalty shot. Craig Whynot and Steve Snell rounded out the scoring in the loss.
The Shamrocks and the Canadians face each other next Tuesday, as both teams look for their first point of the season.

In the late game of the night, Your Fathers Moustache drew to a 4 all overtime tie with the Dartmouth Alpines. The teams traded goals all night, with the Alpines' Steve Nelson starting it off, only 1:24 into the 1st period. Sean Fraser's 6th goal of the season tied it 1. Chris Boutilier's 1st of the season gave the Alpines the lead again. Andrew MacVicar answered for the Moustache, to end the period at 2.
The 2nd period was the same as the 1st, as the Alpines again took the lead on a goal by Shawn Doyle, only to have Jamie MacVicar blasting a shot past Dartmouth's Todd Bengert. For the fourth time of the game the Alpines took a one goal lead by Scott MacKinnon and for the fourth time the Moustache tied it, Craig MacDonald scoring what ended up being the game tying goal.
The 4 all draw kept Your Fathers Moustache undefeated in regulation time improving their record to 2-0-1-1 and into a tie for 2nd place with the Rinkrats and Rangers.

The last game of the week, took place Sunday night at the Shannon Arena, for the first of 7 league games against CFB Halifax.
Secunda Mariners, first up, humbled CFB Halifax 11 to 5.
CFB took a 1 to 0 lead on a goal by Matt Barkhouse. Secunda tied the game at 1 on Bruno Carpentier's 1st of the season. Halifax jumped out to a 3 to 1 lead as Chris Belanger and Mike Wood's powerplay goal found the net past Corey Irving. CFB ran into penalty trouble late in the 1st and Secunda made them pay scoring 2 powerplay goals of their own by Rob Sneath and Keifer House to tie the game at 3 before the intermission.
Secunda still on a powerplay to start the 2nd period added their 3rd of the game by John Robb to take the lead for the first time. The Secunda Mariners took control of the game adding 7 more goals to their total, Brian Stagg firing a hattrick, with Keifer House and Bruno Carpentier scoring their 2nd of the game.
