The Rangers headed into the second period with a 2 to 1 lead on 2 goals by Craig Booker, Scott MacKinnon replied for the Alpines. Big Leagues jumped out to a 3 to 1 lead on Booker's 3rd goal of the game, before Alpines' Dave Fader narrowed the score. The Rangers wrapped up game one with a unassisted goal by Richie Holmes at the 4:31 mark of the first overtime period. The Leagues' top goaltender, Paul Forest was on his game to help Big Leagues to victory.

In the final game of the night, had Scotiabank (5th) down the T.J. Devils (4th) 5 to 3, to take a one game to none lead in their series. Scotiabank on 2 goals by Todd Miles and 1 by Danny Brewer held a 3 to 2 lead on the Devils after the first period. Kenny Hughes and Joe Kinch answered for T.J.'s in the first. Scotiabank increased their lead to 5 to 2 on goals by Allen Coyle and Danny Brewer, his 2nd of the game.
