Shamrocks double up on the Rinkrats.Tuesday started out with the Dartmouth Alpines adding to the Scotian Canadians woes, by hammering them 10 to 4. The Alpines were led by Jay Washington's 5 goal performance and Dave Fader's 5 assists. Todd Parker, Scott MacKinnon, Chris Boutilier, Ian Sullivan and Glen MacDonald added the other 5 goals in the thumping. The Canadians replied with 2 goals from Jamie Richard, while Brad Miller and Paul Birmingham added singles. The loss was the 7th in a row to start the season for the Canadians. Dartmouth called upon Shamrocks goaltender Jason White to fill in for them on this night.
In the nightcap the Bacardi Rangers took on the undefeated Secunda Mariners. The Rangers started out great, jumping out to a 3 to 0 lead on 2 goals from Richie Holmes and 1 from Dale O'Brien. Bruno Carpentier tallied late in the 1st period to narrow the score to 3 to 1 after the 1st.
The Mariners tied the score at 3 on goals from Andrew Hawrylak and Graeme Power by the 13:55 mark and then took the lead at 10:31 on Marty King's shot. The Rangers rallied to tie the game at 4 on Tom Mercer's blast from the point.
With just under 4 minutes remaining in regulation time, Secunda's Derek Taylor gave them the lead that they would not relinquish. Bacardi would have a great chance to tie the game when Mariners' Marty King to a penalty with 2:45 remaining. Unfortunately for the Rangers, Bruno Carpentier would score his 2nd of the game shorthanded with only 1:17 left, and they would add an empty net goal by John Robb to give Secunda a 7 to 4 victory and remain perfect at 7 wins and no losses.
Thursday night had the Rangers right back it, this time against Your Fathers Moustache. Bacardi jumped out to a 1 to 0 lead on a shorthanded goal from Craig Vincent. The Moustache would fight back with 3 goals before the period ended, 2 from Ross MacInnes and 1 from Jamie MacVicar.
Your Fathers Moustache increased their lead to 4 to 1 on Jamie MacVicar's 2nd goal of the night, only to have the Rangers narrow it back to two 9 seconds later by Shane Murphy. Maxime Lessard of the Moustache regained the 3 goal just over a minute later. The Rangers fought back with 2 more goals, from Allan Lake and a shorthanded marker from Reg Bowes, but that is as close as they would come, losing 5 to 4 to Your Fathers Moustache. Jason White of the Shamrocks tended goal for the Rangers.
In the final game of the week, Jason White's Shamrocks took on the Rinkrats. The Shamrocks' led by Jona Leroux's hattrick and 2 goals from Ryan Wheaton propelled the Shamrocks to a 6 to 3 victory over the 'rats. Gord Dickie also found the net for the Shamrocks. The Rinkrats had markers from Matt Kerr, Craig Perrin and Scott Leverman.
The win was the Shamrocks third in a row, after starting the season with 4 straight losses.
