Devils To Face Mariners

The third and final game between Scotiabank and T.J. Devils took place Tuesday night. It was the last Quarter Final Series, the winner to face the Secunda Mariners in the Semi Finals. Joe Kinch of the Devils scored his first of two just 26 seconds into the game, it turned out to be the game winner as the Devils hammered Scotiabank 7 to 0. T.J's followed that goal up 29 seconds later by Tony Peers. The two goals 55 seconds from the start of the game took any jump Scotiabank had, away. The Devils would add five more unanwsered goals in the 2nd period to win the series 2 games to 1. Scoring for the Devils in the 2nd period was; Kenny Hughes, who also chipped in with 3 helpers, Joe Kinch, his second of the game, Scott Hughes, Rhail Arsenault and a powerplay goal by Dave Roode. Dave Fallows earned the shutout.

Game One of the Semi Final between the Dartmouth Alpines and the Sandtrap Chiefs started on Tuesday. The Alpines attacked the Chiefs, who had'nt played since March 25th, early in the game and jumped out to a 1 to 0 lead on a goal by Glen MacDonald at the 16:53 mark of the first period. Dartmouth controlled most of the first period adding two more goals on defensive coverage breakdowns by Sandtrap. Glen MacDonald notched his second of the game, at 9:24, followed by Jay Washington, at 5:59. The Chiefs started to show more life in the 2nd period and scored their first goal of the game at 9:29 by Shane Gibbs. A late penalty by Alpines' Todd Parker gave the Chiefs a powerplay goal by Gord Dickie, his 7th goal of the Playoffs. The Chiefs trailling 3 to 2 pulled goaltender Jason White for an extra attacker, but Alpines goaltender David Howell held the fort for a Game One Series victory.

Game One of the T.J. Devils versus Secunda Mariners takes place on Thursday, followed by Game Two of the Dartmouth Alpines versus the Sandtrap Chiefs. Both Semi Finals are the Best of Three.
