The 22nd season of the Lake City Gentlemen's Hockey League has finished for year. It is time to recognize teams and players for their accomplishments in the 2003-04 season.

Starting with the regular season: Top Team, Regular Season (City of Lakes Trophy) was the Secunda Mariners. The Mariners finished in 1st Place; with 19 wins, 5 losses for 38 points and a winning percentage of .792. Secunda also led the league in goals for, with 165, powerplay goals 12, powerplay percentage of 36.4% and shutouts with 2. Secunda Mariners - Eric Bourque, Andy Clark, Jeff Crowell, Shawn Doyle, Andrew Hawrylak, Keifer House, Corey Irving (goal), Chris Kelly, Kevin Lynch, Kevin MacDougall, Ian Marshall, Scott Pellerin, John Robb, Jeff Thompson, Steve Widmeyer.

Top Point Scorer: Keifer House, Secunda Mariners. Keifer scored 41 goals and had 34 assists for a total of 75 points in 22 games played, tied for league lead with 5 game winning goals. Keifer becomes only the second player in the history of the league to win the point scoring award three years in a row, tying Brian McDow of MacPhee Pontiac back in 1984 to 1986.

Top Goaltending Average: Paul Forest of Big Leagues' Rangers. Paul allowed only 78 goals against for an average of 3.88 in the 20 games he played. Paul has set a new record with his fifth goaltending average award; 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004.

Most Gentlemenly Player: Each team nominated a player from their team. Nominees: Aces', Jason McIvor 20 games played, 0 penalty minutes; Alpines', Jay Washington 22 GP - 2 PIM ; Chiefs', Trevor Doyle 20 GP - 2 PIM; Devils', Rhail Arsenault 22 GP - 0 PIM; Mariners', Keifer House 22 GP - 4 PIM; Rangers', Richie Holmes 20 GP - 0 PIM; Scotiabank, Allen Coyle 24 GP - 0 PIM; Moustache, Craig MacDonald 22 GP - 4 PIM. This year's winner from Scotiabank, Allen Coyle. Allen proved to be more valuable on the ice scoring, 18 goals and 18 assist for 36 points in all 24 regular season games and did not take one penalty.

Most Valuable Player: The eight teams of the league were asked to vote on the three nominees; Mariners', Keifer House; Chiefs', Jason White and Chiefs', Roddy MacCormick. The winner on a 4 - 3 - 1 vote was Jason White of the Sandtrap Chiefs. Jason led his team to a 2nd place finish, winning 18 and tying 1 of 23 games he played, for all 37 points the Chiefs earned and a winning percentage of .771. Finished second in goals against average, with 4.02.

The Lake City Gentlemen's Hockey League has introduced two new awards; Rookie and Executive, plus three Allstar Teams.

Rookie of the Year: Chris Kelly, Secunda Mariners Chris played in only 14 games this season and finished 7th overall in league scoring, with 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points.

Executive of the Year: Mike Spurr, Your Fathers Moustache. Unfortunately due to injury, Mike was unable to play this season, but that did not stop him from running the Moustache. Despite Your Fathers Moustache record this past season,  the team always had a full bench and was well organized. The Moustache were the first team to have their league fee paid in full and well before the playoffs started. Game reports were always checked and corrected if needed.

Allstar Teams: 1st Team;  goaltender - Jason White, Chiefs; defence -  Jeff Crowell, Mariners; Scott Wadden, Alpines; forward - Gord Dickie, Chiefs; Keifer House, Mariners; Roddy MacCormick, Chiefs. 

2nd Team; goaltender - Corey Irving, Mariners; defence - Shane Gibbs, Chiefs; Craig Whynot, Chiefs; forward - Chris Kelly, Mariners; Jay Washington, Alpines; Steve Widmeyer, Mariners.

3rd Team; goaltender - Paul Forest, Rangers; defence - David Denike, Alpines; Ian Marshall, Mariners; forward - Rhail Arsenault, Devils; Steve Lawlor, Aces; Glen MacDonald, Alpines.  

The 2004 Playoff Award Winners; Lake City Cup Champions: the Dartmouth Alpines, their third straight championship. Dartmouth Alpines - Jeff Bigelow, Chris Boutilier, David Denike, Dave Fader, Peter Gallant, Keith Harrietha, David Howell (goal), Dwight Lucas, Glen MacDonald, Terry MacDonald, Scott MacKinnon, Graham McLeod (goal), Todd Parker, Pat Tardif, Scott Wadden, Jay Washington, Darren Welsh.

Top Playoff Point Scorer: Andy Clark, Secunda Mariners. Andy led the Mariners to the Lake City Cup Final, scoring 9 goals and 9 assists for 18 points in 7 games.

Top Playoff Goaltending Average: Graham McLeod, Alpines. Graham had a 2.64 goals against average and also had a shutout to lead the Alpines to victory.

Playoff Most Valuable Player: Graham McLeod, Alpines. Graham not only backstopped the Alpines but also contributed offensively as a forward with 2 assists in 3 games. Graham tended goal in the Quarter Final against the Big Leagues' Rangers and in the Lake City Cup Final against the Secunda Mariners, helping lead the Alpines to their third consecutive Lake City Cup Championship.
