Shamrocks Sweep!

Rinkrats congratulates Moose Light Shamrocks.

Moose Light Shamrocks sweep the Rinkrats with a 3 to 1 victory.

The Moose Light Shamrocks completed the three game sweep of the Rinkrats, to capture the 2010 Lake City Cup. The Shamrocks, celebrating their twenty fifth season won their third Lake City Cup  and second in the past three seasons.

Chris O'Donnell of the Shamrocks opened the scoring at the 17:43 mark of the first period, his second of the Finals and seventh of the playoffs. Kelly Serbu and Trevor Doyle had the helpers. 
Moose Light would make 2 to 0 on blast from the point by Steve Snell, Sebastien Decaens and Mark Walsh assisted on the goal. The 1st period would end with the Shamrocks leading 2 to 0.

Moose Light's goaltender  Jason White frustrated the 'rats most of the game stopping everything they shot at him. The Rinkrats, like in game 1 and 2 pulled their goalie, for an extra attacker. This time it paid off, as Matt Kerr scored his third of the series and eighth of the post season, to narrow the score to 2 to 1 with only 24 seconds remaining in regulation time, Kevin Hurley and Craig Stevens added the helpers.
Rinkrats' goaltender Sean Murphy remained on the bench, as they hoped to tie it up, but could not get another one past White. The Shamrocks, for their third game in a row, would ice it with an empty net goal, with only 2 seconds remaining. Sebastien Decaens would pot his fifth goal of the playoffs, unassisted.    

Moose Light's Jason Troini was named Most Valuable Player for the playoffs, despite missing the Cup clinching game. Jason had 13 goals and 5 assists to lead the playoffs in scoring. Shane Gibbs, Tony Breau and Mike Brown were also missing for the Shamrocks, while Justin Dowding, Craig Perrin and Mike Anderson were not dressed for the Rinkrats.
