Playoff Picture Getting Clearer

With just 2 weeks remaining in the regular season, the race for better positions in the standings continue. The Sandtrap Chiefs have already clinched 1st place, followed by the Dartmouth Alpines - 2nd place and Secunda Mariners - 3rd place, the battle for 4th, 5th and 6th resumed, while Your Fathers Moustache secured 7th place. The Big Leagues' Rangers, Scotiabank and T.J.Devils all have 3 games remaining, the Rangers hold a 3 point lead over Scotiabank and a 5 point lead over the T.J. Devils.

Tuesday started out with a big game between 5th place Scotiabank taking on 6th place T.J. Devils, with just a 2 point difference between them. The Devils jumped out to a 2 to 0 lead on goals by Tim Boyce and Rhail Arsenault, before Scotiabank's Glen Buchanan narrowed the score with 4 seconds remaining in the 1st period. The two teams traded goals in the 2nd, Devils' Tony Peers, followed by Allen Coyle of Scotiabank, Rhail Arsenault with his 2nd of the game, than Danny Brewer, Glen Buchanan's 2nd and Danny Brewer's 2nd for the 'bank. T.J. Devils trailling for the first time in the game drew even at 5 on a goal by Rob Ritchie with 2:41 remaining in regulation time. Overtime settled nothing, as both teams collected a point in the standings.
The second game of the night was a Quarter Final preview with Your Fathers Moustache up against the Dartmouth Alpines. The Moustache may not be looking forward to it, as the were crushed 12 to 2 by the Alpines.
Dartmouth was led by Dwight Lucas' 3 goals and 3 assists followed by Scott MacKinnon's 3 goals, 2 assists. Todd Parker had 2, while Glen MacDonald, Graham McLeod, Jay Washington and Chris Boutilier found the twine once. Sean Fraser and Stephan Fiset replied for Your Fathers Moustache.

Your Fathers Moustache schedule did not get any easier on Thursday as they took on Secunda Mariners. Unfortunately for the Mariners they had to forfeit the game because they had no goaltender . Your Fathers Moustache credited with a 5 to 0 win.
Scotiabank looking to gain on the Rangers in the standings took on the Sandtrap Chiefs and did manage to get a point in a 9 to 8 overtime loss. Scotiabank's Glen Buchanan pulled the trick, while Allen Coyle had 2, Danny Brewer, Doug Mollon and Todd Miles each had 1. Roddy MacCormick, Mark Walsh and Brian McIntoch each had a pair, with Scott Cote, Shane Gibbs and Bill Morris had singles in the victory.
The final game of the night had the Dartmouth Alpines down the Big Leagues' Rangers with a 4 to 1 victory. Jay Washington potted a pair for the Alpines and Glen MacDonald and Dave Fader added 1 each. Tom Mercer scored the lone goal for the Rangers.
