Rematch.

2007-10-19

The week started off on Tuesday with a rematch of the 2007 Lake City Cup Final, and like the Cup's resault the Secunda Mariners defeated Moose Light Shamrocks, by a score of 7 to 5. Secunda's Steve Widmeyer propelled his team to victory posting a goal and 3 assists. Shamrocks' rookie Duncan Fader had 2 goals and an assist in his debut.

The night cap had Your Fathers Moustache downing Bacardi Rangers 7 to 4. It was the first time since 1989-90 season when they were known as Crazy Horse Cabaret the Moustache went 2 and 0 at the start of a season. Sean Fraser and Glenn Dahlgren each had 2 goals and an assist in the win. Allan Lake replied twice for the Rangers.

Thursday saw the Dartmouth Alpines make their season debut with a convincing 8 to 3 polishing over the Rinkrats. Alpines' Dwight Lucas slammed home 3 goals and an assist in the victory. The Rinkrats still having a hard time getting player support, this time going with only 7 skaters and a goalie.

The last game of the week had the Mariners doubling up on the Scotian Canadians 10 to 5, giving them 2 wins on the week. Secunda's Derek Taylor had the hot stick contributing on 6 of their 10 goals, with 3 goals and 3 assists. Dwayne Coyle of the Canadians had a goal and 2 helpers in the loss.

The Secunda Mariners became the first team in league history to be PAID IN FULL, and this only our 2nd week of play. Great job guys!
