Week 8 Recap: Where's the D? NEXT! Alpines 6 and 0. Rangers break out of slump. Rough week for the Canadians.

Week 8 began with a goal fest, as the Secunda Mariners out lasted the Scotian Canadians 11 to 7. Mariners' Keifer House had a goal and eight assists on Secunda's first 9 goals. Team mates Steve Widmeyer, 3 goals and 2 assists and Jamie Wood 3 goals and a assist helped in the victory. Allen Coyle and Mike Sim found the twine twice each in the loss. Mariners' goaltender Corey Irving and Scotian's tender Peter Douglas had to be wondering where their defence were. The nine points by Keifer bolted him to the top of the scoring race, with 7 goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 6 games.

The Dartmouth Alpines completed their first go around of all the leagues teams and remained undefeated. The victims this time were the Moose Light Shamrocks, as the Alpines blanked the Moose 3 to 0.  Jeff Lockhart popped the winner with 8:10 remaining in the 2nd period, Todd Parker struck again with just over a minute left in regulation, followed up by Jay Washington's empty net goal. Goaltender Matt LaDue recorded the shutout.
Last season's regular season champions have lost 3 straight games and out scored 15 to 4 over that time. Shamrocks' missing some scoring from Roddy MacCormick and Jason Troini, both missed the last couple of games.

Thursday night's first game had 2 streaks stopped, as the Bacardi Rangers ended their 4 game losing streak and stopping the Rinkrats winning streak with a 5 to 1 win.
Bacardi's Scott Allison fired home 2 goals and a helper, while Reg Bowes and Brian Urqhart contributed with a goal and an assist each. The Rinkrats' Justin Dowding was the lone marksmen in the loss.

The Scotian Canadians finished the week the way they started the week... with a loss. This time to Your Fathers Moustache 4 to 3. Sean Fraser of the Mostache, who lost the scoring lead to Secunda's Keifer House, kept pace with a hattrick and an assist to pull within 2 points of House. Fraser's third goal proved to be the game winner with only 1:53 remaining in the game. Canadians' Mike Sim had a goal and 2 assist in the loss.

Just a reminder to team reps to check off attendance on the game reports. Players not checked off and are not involved the scoring or get a penalty will not get credited with a game. Players need to play in 9 nine of the 20 game regular season schedule to be eligible to play in the playoffs.
