The Lake City Gentlemen's Hockey League has handed out suspensions to the players of the Fairview Aces and Big Leagues' Rangers, for altercations in their game December 4th, 2003. Suspension are as follows: Fairview Aces - # 5 Steve Sorrie, 6 game suspension (5 for fighting and 1 game misconduct); #11 Mark Gray, 8 game suspension (5 for fighting, 2 for second fight during the same stoppage of play and 1 game misconduct); #55 Kirk Magee, 5 game suspension (5 for fighting). To the Big Leagues' Rangers - #29 Craig Booker, 5 game suspension (5 for fighting); #44  Brian Melanson, 9 game suspension (5 for fighting, 2 for leaving the players bench to fight and 2 for second fight during the same stoppage of play); # 8 Reg Bowes, 1 game (for receiving a 10 minute misconduct in the last 5 minutes of regulation time); # 2 Renny Hickey, 6 game suspension (5 for fighting and 1game misconduct).

The Lake City Gentlemen's Hockey League is a very competitive hockey league with many skilled players on their respective teams. The League however will not tolerate such action. Players who play in this League should not have to worry about things such as being  jumped from behind, sucker punched, or attacked with a stick when they come to play hockey. The bottom line is we all have lives outside of hockey; jobs, family, school and cannot afford being away from these. Come play hockey, play hard and have fun with the game as it should be.
