'Rats Exterminated

Week 9 Recap Moustache romp. Shamrocks revenge. Mariners sunk by Alpines. Holiday spirit by Canadians and Rangers.

Your Fathers Moustache are not to be taken lightly this season and are letting everyone know that. The Rinkrats, off to one of their worst season were exterminated Tuesday night 14 to 3. YFM scored 11 goals in the 1st period, led by league leading point leader Sean Fraser, who added 3 goals and 3 assists to his lead. Former Fairview Ace Trent Boswick fired a hattrick and a helper as well in the romp. Chris MacNeil, a goal and 2 assists and Kelly Serbu with 3 assists were the only bright spots for the Rinkrats as they remain in last place at 1 win and 6 losses.

The Moose Light Shamrocks snapped out of a 3 game losing streak and extracted a little revenge as they downed Secunda Mariners 5 to 2. The loss was the Mariners first regulation loss of the season. Moose Light's Trevor Doyle potted a pair while Sebastien Decaens contributed with a goal and an assist in the victory. Jason White of the Shamrocks played a strong game 
only to be scored on by Keifer House and Jamie Wood.

Thursday night had the Mariners, like the Scotian Canadians the week before, lose their 2nd game of the week, this time to the Dartmouth Alpines. The Alpines led by Todd Parker's 2 goals defeated Secunda 7 to 2. The win extends the 1st place Alpines to 7 wins and no losses. Dartmouth continued to play the complete team game as Peter Gallant, Dwight Lucas, Jay Washington, Graham MacLeod and Glenn MacDonald rounded out the scoring. Tony Broau and Marty King replied for Secunda.

The remaining game of the week had the Scotian Canadians and the Bacardi Rangers exchanging early holiday greetings, as both teams combined for 56 minutes in penalties, 26 for the Canadians and 30 for the Rangers. League's timekeeper Colin Matthews not only was kept busy with penalties but with goals as well as Bacardi out scored Scotian 10 to 6. Bacardi's Allan Lake fired home a natural hattrick in the 1st period to lead them to the win, other goal scorers were Richie Holmes with 2, Shane Murphy, Mark Whebby, Scott Allison, Brian Urqhart and Jeff Branson with singles. Todd Miles had a pair, with Dwayne Coyle, Allen Coyle, Mike MacIssac and Troy Stevens replying for Scotian.
