Santa Comes Early

2003-12-19

As we entered our last week before the holiday season break, several teams looked to make some moves. Starting on Tuesday, the Big Leagues' Rangers and Scotiabank entered their game tied in the standings with 12 points each. After 45 minutes of playing, both teams remained tied in the standings with 13 points each, as the Rangers and Scotiabank drew to a 2 all tie. In the nightcap game, led by Glen MacDonald's hattrick, two of the goals shorthanded, the Dartmouth Alpines overwhelmed the Fairview Aces 6 to 1.

Santa came early for Your Fathers Moustache on Thursday night. The Moustache looking for their first win or point on the season, held on to a 6 to 5 victory over the slumping Aces. A goal and an assist by John Brideau and Ken McDermit helped Your Fathers Moustache to their first win. Steve Lawlor did all he could for the Aces, scoring 4 goals and adding an assist. In the second game of  the evening, the Secunda Mariners edging closer to the first place Sandtrap Chiefs, with a 7 to 6 win over the Chiefs. Mariners' Scott Pellerine led the attack, scoring 3 goals and 2 assists.
