The Canadians led 1 to 0 after the 1st period on a goal by Allen Coyle. They would add 4 more, on goals by Todd Miles with 2, Mike Sim and Mike MacIssac, in the 2nd before the Moustache's Trent Boswick found the net, to take a commanding 5 to 1 lead. The two teams would trade a goal a piece late in the game, Todd Miles collected the hattrick and Trent Boswick popped in his 2nd of the game.
The Canadians join the Moose Light Shamrocks and Dartmouth Alpines in the Semi Finals.

The Bacardi Rangers were also looking for a playoff upset, after defeating the Secunda Mariners 3 to 2 in game 1. The defending Lake City Cup Champions would have none of that and forced a third and a deciding game by winning 7 to 4 in game 2. Mariners' Dean Tucker and Keifer House each had a pair with Doug Clarke, Jay Casivi and Derek Taylor adding singles in the victory. Brian Urqhart, Reg Bowes, Richie Holmes and Allan Lake replied for the Rangers. Both teams had several powerplay opportunities, with Bacardi going 2 for 5 and Secunda going 2 for 6.

Game 3 of the Rangers and Mariners took place Thursday night in the last series to be decided in the Quarter Finals.
The Secunda Mariners would live on to defend their 2007 championship by defeating Bacardi 5 to 2 and winning the series 2 games to 1.
Secunda scored all of it's goals in the 1st period, two by Doug Clarke and Keifer House and one from Jamie Wood. The Rangers' Dale O'Brien tied the game at one in the 1st period and Allan Lake  scored late in the second as the Rangers went away quietly.

And then there are four. The Semi Final matchups are now set and the best of three series will begin on Tuesday, March 18th. The 5th place Scotian Canadians will hope to take advantage of the two week layoff of the 1st place Dartmouth Alpines. In a rematch of last season's Lake City Cup Final the Secunda Mariners will face the Moose Light Shamrocks, with the Shamrocks looking for revenge.
