Mariners have Strangle-Hold on Series.

Mariners' Chris O'Donnell and Neal Pashkoski of the Moustache faceoff in Game 2 of the 2014 Lake City Cup Finals.

Mariners take a series 2 to 0 lead over the Moustache, in the Best of 5 2014 Lake City Cup Finals; Finals move to the Shearwater Arena on Monday, April 20th.

The Secunda Mariners are one win away from claiming their 5th Lake City Cup, after defeating Your Fathers Moustache 4 to 2 in Game 2 of the Best of 5 Lake City Cup Finals.

The Moustache started off on the right foot, when Steve MacDonald scored at 17:29 of the 1st period, Neal Pashkoski assisted on the goal.
Secunda would tie the game at 1 at the 6:45 mark of the period on Rob Sneath's goal, Jason Troini and Chris O'Donnell would assist on the play.
The 1st period would end with a 1 to 1 tie, as both goaltenders Andrew Sim of the Mariners and Todd Bengert of YFM had a strong period.

The 2nd period opened up with the Mariners taking their first lead of the game on a goal by Chris O'Donnell at 16:13, Troini added his 2nd helper along with Jim Morash. Moustache would tie it up at 2 when Pashkoski beat Sim on a powerplay goal at 14:50, Aaron Akitt picked up an assist.
Secunda Mariners regained the lead with 7:51 remaining as Steve Widmeyer fired the puck past Bengert, to make the score 3 to 2, Gerard Bray and Jonah Leroux helped out on the play.

The Moustache missing their leading scorer Sean Fraser for the second straight game, pushed hard as the clock ticked down. They also went for an extra attacker with just under 2 minutes remaining, but could not get the tying goal.
Jason Troini would add an empty net goal for the Mariners with just 6 seconds remainig in regulation time.

The Best of 5 Lake City Cup Finals now shifts to the Shearwater Arena for Games 3 and if necessary Games 4 and 5.
 Game 3 is Monday, April 20th at 8:00pm, with Games 4 Wednesday 22nd and 5 Thursday 23rd at 9:30pm.
